Travis Country Neighborhood
Travis Country is a very desirable Southwest Austin neighborhood located near Southwest Parkway and Mopac. In the early 1990's the neighborhood came in high demand and builder's started developing un-utilized lots into modern homes. 2004 marked the end of active home construction in the newer section of the community. Travis Country is now fully built-out with the exception of a highly disputed tract of undeveloped land owned by Austin ISD. The neighborhood has seen one of the highest home appreciation rates in Austin for more than a soliddecade.
The neighborhood’s access to Mopac make it a breezy commute for downtown workers or for weekend fun anywhere in the Greater Austin Area.
Travis Country Lifestyle
Travis Country is surrounded by the Barton Creek Greenbelt and neighborhood amenities include 8 tennis courts, 2 swimming pools (Blue Valley & Hilltop), basketball courts and a couple playgrounds. There are green areas throughout the subdivision including Gaines Creek Park and a number of Barton Creek Greenbelt entrances to hiking and biking trails. Twin Falls, a popular Austin swimming hole within the greenbelt, is about a 15 minute walk from Travis Country.
With all the world class neighborhood amenities along with the short commute to downtown, Travis Country is a neighborhood that has home buyers eager to move in. It's currently one of the most in-demand neighborhoods on the Barton Creek Greenbelt.
One of the most common reasons home buyers crave the listings available at Travis Country is the Barton Creek Greenbelt, which is considered to bethe “Gem of Austin” with over 800 acres, sheer limestone cliffs, and crystal clear swimming holes, all virtually in the neighborhood’s backyard. With many greenbelt entrances within the neighborhood, home owners find many Travis Country residents walking their dog, hiking, or mountain biking throughout the neighborhood on a near daily basis. Road cycling is also very popular among Travis Country residents. Bikers routinely trek down Southwest Parkway out west towards Lake Travis, a perfect place to catch a sunset or to get out on the water during a weekend adventure.
