Del Valle is home to suburban and rural living within the city limits, making it an inviting option for Austinites looking for a quiet place to call home without getting far outside of the city.

Located invitingly close to the heart of the city, Del Valle is a straight shot down Highway 183 into Downtown Austin. The area was once a little pocket for military personnel, but when Bergstrom Air Force Base was closed in 1993 and renovated into an international airport by the City of Austin, Del Valle transformed into a rural suburban enclave.

The area has seen steady growth while remaining largely rural over the last two decades, allowing Del Valle to be home to a number of outdoor venues, breweries, and spacious homesite developments.

With easy access to everything within the Greater Austin Area, nothing about living in Austin is out of reach for Del Valle residents. The cost of living is significantly lower than in neighborhoods that are closer to the city center, which further adds to the appeal of the region for home buyers and growing families.

The area is expected to be a thriving neighborhood in the coming years, as the popularity of Del Valle continues to climb due to its attractive location by the airport and with a straight shot into the city via access to local highways.

The Circuit of the Americas Formula One race track, the only one in North America, is located nearby. The addition of the race track has made Del Valle a popular place for travelers and tourists to stay when taking in the races and it has further augmented the appeal of owning properties in the immediate area.

Del Valle Schools

Del Valle is served by the Del Valle Independent School District (ISD). Residents are zoned to Del Valle Elementary School, Del Valle Middle School, and Del Valle High School.

The East Travis Gateway Library District operates the Elroy Library and the Garfield Library near Del Valle.
