Del Valle is home to suburban and rural living within the city limits, making it an inviting option for Austinites looking for a quiet place to call home without getting far outside of the city.

The area was once a little pocket for military personnel, but when Bergstrom Air Force Base was closed in 1993 and renovated into an international airport by the City of Austin, Del Valle transformed into a rural suburban enclave.

The Circuit of the Americas Formula One race track, the only one in North America, is located nearby. The addition of the race track has made Del Valle a popular place for travelers and tourists to stay when taking in the races and it has further augmented the appeal of owning properties in the immediate area.

Del Valle Schools

Del Valle is served by the Del Valle Independent School District (ISD). Residents are zoned to Del Valle Elementary School, Del Valle Middle School, and Del Valle High School.

The East Travis Gateway Library District operates the Elroy Library and the Garfield Library near Del Valle.
