Elgin Neighborhoods

Planned communities and new builds are a normal sight in Elgin. The community is situated right on the county line between Bastrop and Davis, which affords the home sites of various neighborhoods to sprawl out across the available terrain. For now property taxes are less than those paid by nearby Travis County.

Elgin Schools

The residents of Elgin are served by Both Elgin ISD and McDade ISD. The precise school that a child will attend is dependent upon the location of the child’s residence upon enrollment.

Private, Montessori and religious schools also exist for parents interested in alternate education options for their children.

In anticipation of greater growth, Austin Community College preemptively launched a brand new campus that provides community courses in vocational and technical programs, associate degrees and preparatory courses for entry into 4-year colleges
