Dripping Springs ISD was also selected as a state finalist for the H-E-B Excellence in Education Large District of the Year Award for two consecutive years (2014 and 2015).

In addition to Dripping Springs, the school district serves the community of Bear Creek  and rural areas in northwestern Hays County. A small portion of southwestern Travis County also falls under the jurisdiction of Dripping Springs ISD.
