Pedernales Condos Neighborhood
The Pedernales Condos prides itself for maintaining an urban loft feel for residents. Many people even refer to them as the Pedernales Lofts. Each loft has 11’ ceilings, exposed steel beams and some exposed piping. The floors are concrete – some polished natural and some stained. The larger floor plans (both between 1000 and 1200 SF) have two bathrooms, a defined bedroom and a middle section that many use as a study but could be a second bedroom. All the other floor plans are smaller, one bedroom and efficiency floor plans.
The Pedernales was built on a large lot. The building units were designed in a C shape with a building in the middle and parking ground on the floor level. To the west of the complex sits a distinct yard and gazebo where residents and locals spend leisure time and walk their dogs.
Pedernales Condos Lifestyle
Residents enjoy quick Downtown access from the Pedernales, which includes a direct path through the bustle of 6th Street. An HEB grocery store a few blocks away on 7th St. and the Saltillo commuter rail station on 5th and Comal. E 7th Street sits approximately a dozen blocks south of the Fiesta Gardens and Lady Bird Lake, making both sites walking distance for locals.
Nearby public outdoor attractions include Ella Wooten Neighborhood Park is a three-acre green space located roughly in the center of Mueller's residential section. It houses a Junior Olympic-sized swimming pool, open seasonally, as well as a play scape and basketball court.
All of the local eateries and nightlife that have made the East side of Austin so popular in recent years are easily accessible to residents of the Pedernales Condos. The area is flush with restaurants, bars, night clubs, music venues and food trucks, ensuring there’s never a dull moment when it comes to a vibrant nightlife or date night in town.
Pedernales Condos Schools
Austin Independent School District (AISD) serves the students that live in Pedernales Condos. With a district-wide enrollment of 84,500, AISD operate 129 different schools, among them are 84 elementary schools, 18 middle schools, and 16 high schools. AISD determines which schools that students will attend based on where their residence is located within a region.
The first half of the Pedernales Condos community is zoned to Maplewood Elementary School, Kealing Middle School, and McCallum High School, although Reagan High School is only 1.5 miles away from the development. The Pedernales Condos community includes a site for a future middle school. The second part of the development tracks to Blanton Elementary School, Bertha Sadler Means and Gus Garcia Middle Schools and Reagan High School.
Private and religious schooling options are also readily available for parents that seek alternate educational opportunities for their children.
