Tarrytown Neighborhood

Although primarily residential, Tarrytown has access to all the diversions that nearby downtown, UT, and Lake Austin have to offer. The neighborhood’s location between downtown Austin and Lake Austin make it some of the most desirable real estate in Texas.

Golfers tee off at the Lions Municipal Golf Course, nature lovers wander amongst the tame deer and peacocks at Mayfield Preserve, children enjoy Reed Park & Pool, and foodies dine at trendy Fabi and Rosi near Lake Austin Boulevard. Residents mention the friendly atmosphere and community feel of Tarrytown as top reasons for buying, and staying, in the area.

Most of Tarrytown’s homes are established mid-century properties, but for developers with deep pockets, an occasional opportunity to customize an open lot becomes available, giving Tarrytown an ever evolving sense of architectural variety. Tarrytown has a dynamic architectural scene. Being a highly affluent area of Austin, several residents have chosen to construct or remodel iconic homes catered to their specific design proclivities.
