When you walk around the streets in this neighborhood, you may notice several of the people wearing T-shirts with the slogan, "Keep Austin Weird". This is normal so don't be surprised. This is also the zip code for the SoCo District (South Congress). This is the zip code for the "hip and cool" Austin crowd. You be able to enjoy the night life on South Congress. It is not the same as its regular 6th nightlife, but, it is definitely entertaining and you'll be able to go to some nice coffee shops and restaurants and some live music local events. On the First Thursday of every month, this is where you'll find many local residents on South Congress enjoying the monthly event.
St. Edward's University is also located in this part of town. You will find lots of student overflow into the neighborhoods surrounding the school. Travis Heights is a popular neighborhood that extends from Riverside Drive down to Oltorf Street and it is known for its little hills and its close proximity to downtown. Local residents love living in this neighborhood.
